Author Biographies

Delis Cuellar, University of Wisconsin-Madison

Delis Cuéllar, Ph.D., is an Associate Researcher at the WIDA in the Wisconsin Center for Education Research at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She has more than 10 years of experience working with children, parents and teachers of dual language learners across the U.S.  Previous to her work at UW Madison, she was employed at the Center on Teaching and Learning in the College of Education at the University of Oregon. She was a Research Associate for The National Task for on Early Childhood Education for Hispanics. She also held a one-year post-doc position at the National Institute for Early Education Research at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

Lynn Shafer Willner, University of Wisconsin-Madison

Lynn Shafer Willner, Ph.D., is an Associate Researcher at WIDA at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Past professional experience includes lead author of the 2014 CCSSO English Language Proficiency Standards (while working at WestEd), accommodation research and state department of education technical assistance while at The George Washington University, Online Facilitation Training Manager at PBS TeacherLine, elementary school ESOL Teacher in the Fairfax County (Virginia) Public Schools, and a preschool teacher in Northern Virginia.
