Author Biography

Alan Ruby, Univeristy of Pennsylvsania

Alan Ruby is a senior fellow at the Alliance for Higher Education and Democracy in the Graduate School of Education, university of Pennsylvania. He was Deputy Secretary with responsibility for education in the Australian Government in the 1990’s, served a chair of the OECD’s Education Committee and led the human development team for East Asia at the World Bank. He has written on numerous aspects of education policy and reform including public policy choices in educating young people for tomorrow’s economy in Laura Perna’ s edited volume Preparing Today’s Students for Tomorrow’s Jobs in Metropolitan America.
