About the Journal
Education Review (ISSN: 10945296) publishes reviews of recent books on education topics in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. To be considered, the book must have been published within the past three years. The journal also hosts an ongoing publication series, Acquired Wisdom (English) and Pedagogical Legacies (Portuguese), highlighting the work of esteemed education scholars.
Editorial Policy
All book reviews are subject to revision by the Editors, including editing for consistency in style and formatting. The submission of a review or revision does not guarantee publication.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that making research freely available to the public encourages knowledge sharing and the circulation of ideas. The journal is both free-to-read and free-to-publish; authors are never charged fees for the publication of their work.
Education Review supports the open access publication standards established by the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA) and its definition of open access as: a) The dissemination of peer-reviewed manuscripts; without charging user groups, without requiring registration or other access barriers; and b) copyright holders allow users to copy, use, distribute, transmit and display the work publicly in any digital medium for any responsible purpose, subject to proper attribution of authorship.
Journal History
The journal was created in 1998 by Gene V Glass of Arizona Strate University. Since then, Education Review has published reviews of books in education, covering the entire range of education scholarship and practice. In 2016, the Acquired Wisdom Series began, and in 2023, the Pedagogical Legacies Series (Portuguese language) began. More details on the journal's history are here.
