Review of Generative AI and Education: Practices and Theories, by Mariano Pimentel and Felipe Carvalho

This is a critical Portuguese-language review of the e-book Generative AI and Education: Practices and Theories, authored by Pimentel and Carvalho, who present artificial intelligence as an interlocutor and co-author in the learning process. They argue that AI should enhance teacher mediation and student authorship, without replacing them. They introduce the notion of hybrid authorship and relate the pedagogy of the prompt to the Freirean legacy, highlighting the importance of its ethical use, based on the reconfiguration of didactic situations and critical reflection.

Mirian é Doutora em Educação com concentração em Tecnologia da Informação e da Comunicação, pela Universidade Estácio de Sá. Pós-doutora em Educação pela Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro - UERJ. Especialista em Recursos Humanos e em Administração pela Fundação Getulio Vargas. Pesquisadora do Grupo de Pesquisa Docência e Cibercultura do Programa de Pós-graduação em Educação (PROPED GPDOC-UERJ/UFRRJ) e subcoordenadora do Grupo de Pesquisa Sociabilidades, Cibercultura e Educação (SoCib -UERJ. Possui experiência na área de Educação, em geral, particularmente no que se refere à Formação de professores, à Cibercultura, à Didática e à Educação Online. Atua como docente, orientadora e avaliadora de TCC, de cursos MBA do Programa FGV Management, e como palestrante e consultora, em instituições e empresas públicas e privadas. Autora de livros, capítulos de livros e artigos diversos em sua área de especialização e afins.
