The series, Acquired Wisdom. Lessons Learned by Distinguished Researchers (AW) has attracted a good deal of notice. As we, the founding AW editors, pass the baton to a new editing team we have prepared these notes to summarize the history of the series, our decisions regarding its release, some of what we have learned from editing this series, and our hopes for its future.
